Christopher L. Scotland

Associate

Chris understands business. Chris uses his joint accounting and legal background to his clients’ advantage. With expertise in analyzing financial data and tax issues, Chris provides value-added service to his clients.

Chris earned his Chartered Accountant and Chartered Professional Accountant designations and prior to becoming a lawyer was an accountant in KPMG’s audit and corporate tax groups.

Chris began his legal career as commercial litigation lawyer at McCarthy Tétrault. He has acted in complex litigation matters with various stakeholders and has represented the Big Four accounting firms in commercial disputes.

Chris obtained his JD from Western Law. He has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational and Managerial Studies with a specialization in Finance and Administration. 

Chris teaches a course at Western Law called Accounting for Lawyers, which educates law students on the intersection of law and accounting. As a law student, Chris worked at the Western Business Law Clinic providing pro-bono services to small businesses and start-ups.
